Health and Safety Policy – Statement of Intent
Lochfyne Training Services will comply with all of its legal duties in pursuance of providing safe and healthy working conditions for all employees and will take positive action to ensure that other contractors, occupiers of buildings, or the public are not affected by our works.
- The company will co-operate with all those with an interest in health and safety, other employers, clients, designers, sub-contractors, and the enforcing authorities.
- The company will provide sufficient financial support for the full implementation of the policy.
- The company will ensure that all persons are competent to carry out the duties asked of them, and will provide all information, instruction, supervision and necessary training.
- The company will ensure that all employees are consulted on matters of health and safety and will encourage positive employee participation.
- This policy will be kept up to date and will be amended to suit any changes in the size or nature of the company’s activities. In support of this intent the policy will be reviewed annually.
- We have appointed (Iain Michie, Health & Safety Instructor) as responsible for health, safety and welfare matters.
- To provide the company with additional assistance in health and safety matters, we will utilise the services of a specialist consultant if and when necessary.

Environmental Policy

The Company Environmental Policy, conforming to the objectives of ISO 14001, the Environmental Management Standard is based on a commitment to sustainable development in product design, i.e. to protect the environment, minimise the waste of renewable and non-renewable resources and reduce energy consumption as part of a continuous improvement programme.
Throughout its activities, the Company will endeavour to minimise any adverse impact on the air, water and land by means of pollution prevention and energy and water conservation. In this way, cost savings, increased operational efficiency and improved quality of products and services will be achieved as well as maintaining a safe environment for the community as a whole and a healthy workplace for the Company's employees.
In pursuit of this policy, the Owner believes:-
- Environmental protection and waste minimisation is the responsibility of every employee and should be an integral part of their working life supported by training whenever appropriate.
- Every endeavour will be made to ensure that the Company meets its responsibilities by conforming to all applicable environmental legislation.
- Prime consideration will be given to the prevention of pollution and the elimination of waste and emissions at source whenever production processes or Company facilities are reorganised.
- Customers and suppliers will be encouraged to support the same objectives by minimising environmental impact and waste and reducing energy consumption whenever possible.
- Management will set continuous improvement targets on a regular basis based on risk assessments and other factors. Reviews will be undertaken to identify progress towards these targets and set further targets for subsequent periods.
